I know how that is... it finally got clear down here in Georgia, and I was also able to get some shots out where it is really dark (well... about as dark as I can get it!)

Thanks for commenting. As you can see I have not updated for a while due to weather and life in general. I think this weekend I will get a chance to get out. I look forward to hearing from you again

Welcome back - I've been doing a bit more visual observation lately. Saturn, in particular is excellent for that - you can really see more visually than with the camera most of the time.

It hasn't been quite that cold down here in north Georgia - 50F last night. Hope you get a bit more warm weather.

Yikes. I personally make it a rule never go observe below 20°. So I guess I should stay in the south?

Focusing, I believe, is more of an art than a science. I've found that working with the scope during the day on things like that helps me figure out stuff without having to worry about tracking or other things - work on one thing at a time.

It has definitely been a nasty winter this season for everyone. When I went to bed at 7:30 last night it was -2F with a stiff breeze coming from the north.20 years ago I would have spent hours in the cold and shrugged it off.Heh,not anymore!.I will borrow Ed's excuse and blame the moon for washing the sky out! :) .
